Heritage Disc Golf Course Walkthrough
NOTE: OUTDATED. WORKING ON NEW TEE SIGNS SOON.
Hole #1 is a slight anhyzer through a tight fairway in the woods. The hole goes up in elevation, so, be sure to get it far enough up to glide to the basket. Good disc choices for a right handed backhand thrower are: Panthers, Coyotes, Valkyries and Stingrays.
Hole #2 is a right hook around the sledding hill.  Don't throw it too far right or you'll run into the side of the hill and be left with a difficult 2nd shot. You need a long arm to get it to the basket in one, and you might want to consider a forehand shot with a Flick or Monster!
Walking all the way around the hill from basket #2, Hole #3 is a left hook around the same hill, on the other side.  Toss a good left hook disc like an Orc, Crush, Monster, or TeeRex very low to the ground on the bottom of the hill.  An elevation change down will put your disc right at the pin.
Hole #4 is a beautifully designed hole - It taunts you with an apparent clear shot - but be careful, the trees on the right side of the fairway mean certain death.  My approach is usually to take a straight run at it with a buzz or coyote..but it doesnt always turn out to be an easy birdie then!/FONT>
Hole #5 is a big right hook hole.  Practically impossible to approach through the trees, you're gonna have to tilt your disc on this one to get it to the basket, or bring out the forehand.  Don't overshoot though - too powerful a throw, and the hill will let your disc glide (or roll!) right over the out of bounds road.
Hole #6 is a great little left hook hole with a taunting tee location and several fairway obstacles.  My choice:  an Eagle or Orc.
Probably the most difficult hole on the course, duecing this hole is a monumental event.  Most players will just be hoping to get a disc between the woods on the right and fairway trees on the left.  Send it through this hole, and you'll have an anhyzer 2nd throw to the basket. Playing it safe is probably the only way to a par on this hole!
Hole #8 is probably the most deucable hole on the course.  Although its a blind shot, its a short hole, and any old left hook disc will get you there. Buzz, Bulldogs, and sometimes even the occaisonal stable putter is a good choice.
Hole #9 requires some interesting decisions.  Many players decide to do a massive left hook.  Some try their luck down the middle.  Either way, plan for a par on this hole, because its downright tough!
Hole #10 is a long straight basket.  Beware the long grass on the right.  There are disc trolls in there.  I saw one once scampering off with someones Mint 2nd Run CE Valkyrie!  I swear! It gets wet in the long grass after rain..so bring your waders.
Hole #11 requires a good toss to get it over the road.  I prefer to toss a big left hook on this hole, as I feel its easier to avoid the hazards.
Hole #12 (the old 13!) is another river backdrop hole. Hopefully you have a disc that flies straight - because a left hook on this hole is less successful on this one than it is on #11.
A very, very long right hook hole. The road is not OB, so feel free to skip it off the road for a few extra feet. Just don't skip it right into the river on the right!
Hole #14 - the patented Heritage Bean Hole.  Consumes lots of discs.  Get it over the beans in the mid-late summer, because if you don't you'll be looking for a while.
Hole #15 is a long straight open hole and you can approach it however you wish - as long as you can drive 365!
Hole #16 is the hole that you throw your shoulder out of its socket trying to impress your buddies.  My recommendation?  Take the 3.
Hole #17 is a great opportunity to improve your score late in the round.  open fairway.  Word of advice:  its farther than it looks.
Hole #18 is a long hole.  You've got two options - go down the center with a straight low flying disc - or hook a big left out around the trees to the right.  Either way, pray to the disc golf gods that it makes it there after you let it go.
